Anti-CA15-3 McAb (labeling) Specifications

Specificity: Specific for the tandem repeat of the MUC-1 core. Recognizes the hexapeptide (TRPAPG). The MUC-1 mucin (Cancer Antigen CA15-3) is secreted from tumor cells. The apo-protein of the MUC-1 mucin contains a transmembrane domain, a cytoplasmic domain, and an extracellular carbohydrate rich domain. The extracellular domain is characterized by polymorphism with respect to the number of a 20 amino acid tandem repeat (VNTR polymorphism).

Applications: Detection antibody in serological assays for the research of antigen MUC-1. Forms a suitable pair with CA008, Catalog # L1C00802 as capture. Immunohistochemistry on frozen or paraffin sections for the detection of MUC-1. Immunochemical detection of MUC-1 protein. Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application.
